Whatever happened to the great wit and style of Yes, Minister or Yes, Prime Minister? Or even the quirky series Minder? Madelaine, Blackadder was great as was Monty Python but perhaps the answer to your questions is simply this — the Americans! American slapstick, dullness and repetition came in and invaded British comedy and dumbed it down. And with many great British stars making a beeline for the Land of The Free and The Home of The Brave, the comedy market is sadly taking on a duller hue! Need to bring the wit and sarcasm back. But if that happens, will you and I be the only ones who appreciate it? Then what happens to the ratings and the shows? Another problem arises then.
