Tell me about yourself,

But not what I have been tuned to know.

Tell me your inner thoughts, how you want to grow,

That is the you that I want to really know.

Ask me about myself

But do not rush to agree with all I say.

Love should not just accept whatever is said, like night turning into day,

And I accept that you and I each have our own way.

Tell me your dreams, and I will share mine.

What you long for, and I’ll share what I pine.

Long before skin touches skin, minds must meet.

Love comes when hearts and minds can kiss and greet.

Lock no hidden thoughts within yourself,

Fearful of what its outcome may be.

Love can only thrive when it keeps no covered shelf,

When each other’s hearts are open to see.

Be not afraid to speak of fears,

For love and courage must grow in time,

Any brave lover will comfort his beloved’s tears,

And know that to be brave and afraid is no crime.

Let me know how I may nourish you,

That through our love you your true self find.

Only when you and I are allowed to grow,

Can love be truly ageless and beyond time.

Let us each the other’s welfare seek,

Let me spend my life knowing you.

And let the words that I always speak,

Always say “I love you and only you” .
